HI, I'M DANICA, AND I TELL STORIES.

Before becoming a UX designer, I spent 13 years as a video editor, bringing customer stories to life for stakeholders at Netflix, Chrysler, and eBay. As an editor, I got to see consumers’ faces light up as they talked about their favorite products. On the flip side, however, I also got to hear consumers describe how helpless they felt during their most frustrating product experiences.

This is what led me to the world of UX; I didn't want consumers to feel powerless anymore. As a designer, I use my storytelling abilities to advocate for customers and my editing background to devise simple solutions to their pain points.

I recently completed over 400 hours of hands-on UX training at CareerFoundry and am now collaborating with fellow alumni to design a safer and more efficient way to organize pick-up basketball games.

I’m eagerly looking for additional opportunities to grow as a designer and would love to hear from you. Right now, I'm particularly interested in learning more about accessibility and discovering new ways to incorporate storytelling into UX design, but I also like talking about filmmaking, baseball, and rock music, too! If you’d like to chat, please don’t hesitate to send me an email or connect with me on LinkedIn.

And, if you’re curious about my past life in film, feel free to check out my video editing and motion graphics reels.
